This whole disaster's been gnawing at me since it happened. I was following it before it even hit and have been following it before, during and after work everyday. I can't even put into words the frustration at not being able to do anything and worse, seeing so many people being displaced with no help in my own country.For anyone wanting to see an ( Read more... )

i find it very comforting that it's happened in my country. not just because i hate the u.s. and hate new orleans, i mean to say i'm glad these people live in a place where other people are willing to help them.

nobody cares about indonesia anymore, have you noticed?

Kind of hard for me to notice what ppl in the States are thinking. But I never got the impression that many ppl here in Japan were too working up in the first place over Indonesia. I know there were, but I didn't see a whole lot of outreaching going on here.

I agree. When the huge earthquake hit Bam, Iran awhile back, I was wondering where the massive Let's Help These People! spirit was. Once again, it wasn't that there wasn't any outreaching, rather a more subdued version of what's seen when that sort of thing happens someplace more familiar or friendly.
