Huzzah! Much to my surprise, I got better grades this semester than I did in the fall! My parents will be pleased. I went to visit my high school today, and got to see a lot of great teachers that I hadn't seen for a while. BOTH of my old Spanish teachers found me at the same time in the office, which was terrifying, as my Spanish se ha degradado completamente desde el primer semestre. Very embarrassing. "Verte" sounds a lot like "verde" - one means "see you" and one means "green," and I thought he was saying that I looked green. Which I don't. But the surprise of the morning (because being embarrassed in front of Spanish teachers is never a surprise) was my composition teacher coming up to me and informing me that he was going to sea this summer. I said, no, I'M going to sea. But apparently he got a summer job as an educator on Ocean Classroom's schooner Westward, and he wants me to send him some sea chanties. This is slightly hilarious, but also pretty awesome. Mr. Bouton is a cool guy, and I was incredibly pleased when he told me he referenced me in his application. Haha. Also, one of the girls graduating this year from my high school is coming to Whitman after a gap year, which is really cool, because we're the first two ever to come here. And now I'm not the only one! But now I'm off to clean the kitchen and my room.
