Writing Exercise: Week One
The assignment?
Write one sentence, beginning with the words, "The day after my eighth brithday, my father told me..."
The result?
The day after my eighth birthday, my father told me, "You're old enough to hear this now: your brother is our favourite, and you were an accident."
Hey, that wasn't hard at all! Maybe this won't be as bad as I thought!
In order to preserve my optimism I'm going to resist the urge to peek at what week two has in store. Just in case.
