That's EXACTLY the thing! We aren't Cape. Marching isn't our forte. Our draw is our sound and that's what people come to see us for, not straight lines, not fucking "pride". Cape sounds like shit, but they look nice. That's their thing, they can march, but their concert band is dreadful. If he's going to try and turn us into some drum corps crap, we're just going to march mediocre and play mediocre. I'd rather play well!
I think he needs to hear the saying, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Stupid fucking assmonkey douchebag. He's so insecure because he's BY FAR the worst director that he thinks by acting like he's so professional and so motivating it's going to make him suck less. IT'S NOT! He's a shitty teacher and a shitty trombone player. Who's woodwind students make all district and all state band? Who takes their percussion kids to national contests and wins awards? Who has the best horn and trumpet players? Yeah, NOT his kids. The low brass section? They're awful sans for a couple exceptions. He doesn't put the time in to help his students out, yet walks around like he's hot shit. My friend Nick set up practice times with him last year and he never showed up and never apologized for standing him up.
Words cannot express the utter contempt I have for that man. Oh my fucking God.
And here's another point I brought up..do you honestly think that anybody from this fucking small town cares if we shit that some Drum Corps plays? Nope! People come to the games to get..ENTERTAINED! They want to hear things that they've heard before! When Jennifer went through, they played stuff like "Shaft", "Venus", "My Way", etc..I've heard of all that stuff.."Sanctus"? What the fuck is that?
My dad has always said this about Fliege..that he needs to get away from the other three, he'll do fine if he goes to a small school, because he's actually a really good director. I'm actually starting to not mind Vangilder too much because he's not really in control like Fuckwad pretends to be. And you know I love the drumline because no matter what, they rock. I totally agree with you on the low brass section..they suck! Plain and simple. And he gets all pissy and who's to blame? Himself!
