FNL's Matt Lauria Joins Shonda Rhimes' Period Drama Pilot
Friday Night Lights‘ Matt Lauria has joined the cast of Gilded Lilys, ABC’s period drama pilot being exec-produced by Grey’s Anatomy boss Shonda Rhimes.
He’ll play Charlie, the dashing, self-aware nephew of a wealthy millionaire and the boyfriend of Violet (The Tudors‘ Sarah Bolger).
To be penned by K.J. Steinberg (The Nine, Gossip Girl), Gilded Lilys is set in 1895 and promises to deliver an epic love story, a vicious rivalry and a scandalous secret unfolding against the backdrop of the opening of New York’s first luxury hotel. The cast also includes Blythe Danner and Madeline Zima.
Lauria’s post FNL credits include The Chicago Code, CSI and, most recently, Person of Interest.
