Slash, clang, swipe. The sounds blasted around the room. There was a loud thump as she was thrown into a wall. She got back up quickly and drew her throwing knives.
One, two, three. Swish, swish, swish. Thock, thock, shump. The third one went deep into the enemy's chest. Jacob groaned.
"Always one ahead of me, when did you get this good?"
"It takes practice," Bella grinned at him, before choosing a shotgun and barreling down the hallway.
Jacob followed closely behind, grenades in hand.
"Alright, here's the plan. You throw the grenade, which will hopefully distract them, and I'll come in with my shotgun and blast them all to hell. If that fails... well get to the nearest safe spot and wait till I can get to you."
"Why do you always get to make the strategies?"
I pointed to the tally of dead on Quil's arm. I was actually more than one kill ahead.
He rolled his eyes. "Fine."
-
"GET ANOTHER GRENADE, GET ANOTHER GRENADE. OH FOR HEAVENS SAKES DO SOMETHING!" She screamed as Jacob fumbled.
"I'm trying, I'm trying! Holy crap they're shooting at me from everywhere!!!"
"PRESS THE TRIGGER YOU BIG LUG!" She starts pushing at him with her body.
"ARGH!" He screams.
CRUNCH.

"Aw man, that's the third controller you've destroyed Jake! You're not allowed to play anymore." Quil whined as he took the ruined remains of the controller from Jake's hands.
Jake just grinned at me, "like I want to lose to this wimp anyways." He pushed me lightly and I fell off the couch.
"Kids, turn that off. Quil, get that game out of here. Bella, what are you doing playing violent video games?" Charlie asked sternly from the entrance of Billy's house.
"Uhhhh," I said. I didn't finish because Quil was arguing with Charlie about the benefits of video games. What I would have said, if Charlie knew the truth, was that when I was immersed in these games it was far easier to forget the pain of Edward leaving, far easier to ignore my growing attraction to Jake... and to be honest... it was nice to fight on the battlefield with Jake instead of cowering in the corner like the human I was. Even if it was just a game.

Also? I kicked ass.
