Thank you my amazing writer
tammyrenh for this beautiful, beautiful story, and for putting up with me disappearing for days before our posting date. I just sent her the last art the night before we have to post, I'm sorry! I can't wait to read the story once again when it's polished and up on AO3/LJ. Much love <3
Please go read the awesome story right here:
And as always, thanks to the super mod
wendy!
My rumblings and art are under the cut <3
I started with the main poster first. Since 80% of the story happened in the wood (spoiler!) I knew that I wanted to have the wood as the background. And their tent, of course. What I didn't know was how to position Jared and Jensen. Should I have them sleeping on the bed? Too obvious considering the title? I didn't have the conclusion by the time I reached the deadline I've set for myself. Sooooo I just opened PS and started to draft something. Let my hand lead for once. In about 2 hours, I got a couple of pining!J2 who looked like they wanted to strangle the other but at the same time wanted to take the other's clothes off (esp. Jensen).
... ok, this would do :D
I finished the linework of the Js and started on the background: wood, castle, etc. Then I decided to color the Js only, leave the BG in black and white, and add orange hue. I should have polished their cloth with some shadows but I didn't have time *cries*
Here is the final version:
But since it's too big to fit on the Bigbang community page, I made the banner out of this poster. Have I told you guys that Jared Padalecki is pretty? ;) And no, Jensen didn't paint his nail. That happened when I can't quite figure out the color code for painting human nail.
Not-so-fun fact: I misspelled 'enemy' --> 'enermy' and had to fix the art. Thank God I still had them saved as PS file lol
One done!
The idea of the ending pic came to me quite easily: I needed a very cheesy and in-love J2 standing (or sitting, courting, drinking beer...) in front of Jensen's brewery (spoiler!). The process was the same as the first pic: J2 line art --> color --> BG
--> shadows & lights. I didn't do much about their cloth because I didn't know stuff about medieval cloth. Looking for reference pic also didn't help much. And I had no time *cries some more* But again, there were so many details in the BG already, so it was probably fine to make their cloth plain. Right?
I actually intended to have the same elements as the first pic and make this a bookend kind of pic: wood vs home, the sun is also there but now they were happy and together :)
It is more cheesy than I thought it would turn out! But my writer likes it so yeah... Here is the final version of the fairytale ending pic.
The last piece is the divider. We discussed about having Prince Stephen as a looming figure somewhere in the poster at first. But since it didn't happen, I had him in the divider instead, with J2 separating.
All done!
Finally, I would like to thank my writer,
tammyrenh for creating such a lovely and beautiful story. I fell in love with the summary and was so happy to be able to claim your story. I was at JIBcon and had to use my mobile phone to do all this claiming stuff in between running to panel rooms and photo room so it was quite a challenge! It was fun doing art for you, and your excitement about the art was what keep me going. Much love xxx
P.S. I still can't do NC-17 stuff but at least now I have one J kissing the other J on the head. So yey :D
