Life update

Hi, fl,

Bad news here. I have to finish 3 reports before the end of this month. So I don't think I can post the second part of the recent Flea one shot soon. But I'm working on it, very slowly. And I promise I'll answer all your comments but it's going to take a long time. Please be patient with me.

And more bad news. My friend who know I'm writing ( Read more... )

I can't remember if you told me what kind of work you do. But why does it matter if they know? I mean would it hurt your position at work? Are they homophobic? you could friend lock you pages. do they know what name you use to write under?

I think you should have made sure your friend knew this was confidential.

Good luck with those papers you have to write

HUGS!

Hey :)
I work in this big, Japanese NGO that give assistance to developing and under developing countries so yes it would hurt my position if they know I'm writing slash. I don't think they're homophobic but their thoughts about me would change for sure and I wish I wouldn't care. But in fact, I love this field of jobs and I do care what they think about me. Besides, I'm living in Asia where, well, you know people know a little about gay or gay sex.
I know, I know it's cliche. Welcome to my world.

It was unintentional of my friend. She said she told them the summary of the story so yeah if they are serious about finding out, they can google me. But I don't want to blame her 'cause she loves Flea so sometime she just wants to talk about it. She is my personal agents here :) And it's not that confidential. All of my friends know I'm writing slash. But the people at the office don't have to know it. *shrudders*

Hugs you back. I hope I don't have to lock the stories, too.

well if you do lock it I'm already on your friend's list I've never felt the need to lock my stories (and I hope I never do) I hope that your co workers do google search you. Do they know your pen name?

I don't think I would want co workers to know about my writing either.

Hugs

((((Blues)))) - so sorry that all this is happening. If there is a way for you to friends lock all your entries at once, I think you should do it. Better safe than sorry. Just make sure I can read them all (lol). Hang in there! Sending you lots of hugs! - B

You know I don't write , but if people knew what I read and the pics I posted my work would be affected.. I work for myself and come across as some sweet mum figure who everyone can rely on.. I am a mum and have to behave very responsibly in my job but I am aware that there are very narrow minded people out there..

One of my friends who is very nosy started getting suspicious about my facebook profile - I have quite a few friends on who are from all over the world (quite a few from lj) cos I started using facebook to detract her from other stuff I was doing..Luckily I work at a local University a couple of days a week (where there is an International College department)and she assumes that these people are from there.. It sucks when you have to lie about things - I come to lj to be me - unfortunately only my friends on here know the real me..

Good luck :)

Hugs
Julie

Hey,
So I have to say 'welcome to our world' then.
I don't do facebook much. It's basically there for me to commute with my friends in Scotland and Japan, etc. who happen to love facebook.
Yeah, I know it sucks when you have to lie. But I think I won't have to lie. I'd just say yeah I'm writing something but it's nothing that they might like. But then you know their curiousity would grow for sure if I tell them that. So I think I will play busy at work. Maybe they'll get tired and stop asking me about my stories.
*finger crossed*
*hugs you back*

The best thing would be if you cut us off Flea (I can't believe I even suggest that, Jeez!!!!), and write few "stories" - slash IS also het, after all. Not SEX stories, just some romantic, Harlequin stuff in completely ANOTHER platform (xanga, wasn't there or something like that; or even better - something on WORDPRESS, as you can change dates of the actual post, and pretend you've written them MONTHS ago), and show it to them in all of your modest glory.

I mean, I really, REALLY hope this friend of yours didn't mention GAY slash in her revelations, right?

By "cut us off" I mean "for the time being, only to devote your time to write something saving the situation". NOT to cut us off completely, or, God forbid, to go in delete mode, PLEASE!!!!

Hey,
I wouldn't cut any of you off! No way 'cause nobody read my stories but you guys! And I have fun here. Like I told Linda (trekfan), it's going to hurt my position at work for sure if someone in the company knows I'm writing and reading slash. I read it at work, too, my bad, but I just can't resist it. I clear the temp. files and history page every five minutes. it's crazy but it's addictive!
Anyway, I'm not doing anything at the moment. Maybe I'll see if I can play dump at work.
*sighs*

Thank you, honey.
I feel hugged and i really need it!
I read at work, too, and as I've told some of you before that my muse work really well when I'm at my desk in the office. I don't know why but I always write during work. But of course I can only write when I don't have much work to do on that particular days. My boss wouldn't mind.
But I think they thought I'm working on my study, digging info for my reports or something. They'll kill me if they know I've been dwelling in the gay love land....
Don't worry, dear, I'll figure something out. So far, you've all been very nice to me. I'd hate to lock the stories. But if I have to, it wouldn't be forever.
(((Tammy)))
*hugs you tight*
PS; It's out of topic but you know one of the reports I'm working on right now is about Spain. *smiles*

(((((Bluesy)))))

Why do bad things ALWAYS happen to lovely people? :/

I'm so sorry to hear about your troubles (didn't we all agree that 2009 would be awesome? DAMN IT!) and I really wish I could do something to help. You do what feels safer for you but I have just one suggestion - if you don't want to f-lock your stories you could always f-lock your RL posts. That way even if they google your name they want be able to find out who the writer is. Or did your friend told them details about what Flea is about? That would be bad. :((( Or you could create a community in order to post your stories and make your personal journal friends only - a lot of people do that in the SPN fandom or madlori with humaninterest.

I hope things will work out soon for you bb - and PLEASE don't worry about the next chapter of Flea or answering comments. :)

I've come to a decision. No locking. I don't think they have time to google me 'cause I'm not that famous lol
And the sex scenes aren't that hardcore, are they? Um... Anyway, I'd rather spend more time writing Flea and catching up with J2 love that I've missed the last few years!!
Yeah I'm a girl with priority heh heh
