Hi!
Thanks for your comment. That´s exactly the one I meant. I love it!!!
It´s now two years since I last read it and english is not my first language, so may be I didn´t understand everything correct, but here are some of my thoughts about the book, if you like to hear:
First: I love it. Still.
I think Jeff Long had a unique idea creating the hadal world. And it works for me as long as I´m reading, but outside the reading mood I find it hard to believe that noone has ever discovered all those vast spaces beneath the surface of our planet (actually I studied geography so I have to have some doubts (grins!).
And: I don´t quite understand why Thomas the Devil forgot everything about his creation, his power, his might among his own people. Why he had to find a nun to help him.
One of my favourite scenes is the last one when Ike discovered the last hadal city, the abyss. But: He could track Shoat always, couldn´t he? He was vaccinated, wasn´t he? (I don´t remember that part exactly though.)
But don´t get me wrong-- as I said it is a great read!
I´m still fascinated with the idea of "givin up completely, letting everything go and surrender yourself"-- to those creatures! Sometimes I think there may have been something else that dragged Ike into this society as completely as he felt. (He remained a slave actually, all his time among them. Whereas Isaac gained power and led a special life!)
Anyway I would love to hear your thoughts about the book. I´m looking forward to another comment (looks hopefully!)
