To those of you distressed that now Obama has turned his back upon the poor and those most in need of such programs as community outreach and heating assistance: Well, what did you expect? This is a democracy (well, technically, a Republic). That means that if you don't vote, you open the door for opposing voices to become ascendant. That's what happened in the mid-term election. The people who want cheap labor and an oppressed lower class that they can work for little pay and no benefits were able to vote in a majority of Cheap-Labor Republicans. First on the agenda: cut benefits! Obama is not strong enough by himself, that is to say, without your support at the polls, to stop this.
You chose to stay home. You figured your vote didn't matter. You may have even voted for the Cheap-Labor Republicans. O.K., that's your right. It is not, however, your right to then sit there and complain when you get what you voted for, or didn't vote against.
Welcome to democracy! It is a pity you are taking those of us who did vote, and voted against the Cheap-Labor Republicans with you.
