O.K., I have heard one too many rants about Obama and his poor presidency. Remind me to never be an elected official! I mean really, the guy's trying to clean up 8 years of George Bush's "The war is an emergency and as such does not fall under the balanced budget act." Combined with: "We should unbalance the budget by cutting taxes without cutting spending." And we really won't mention the colossal boner of both houses of Congress passing the repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act (1999) which allowed banks to diversify into investments (leading to mortgage-backed securities) in the first place.
Instead, we just blame Obama!
The greatest tragedy, I think, is that the American People are so self-absorbed that they are willing to settle for easy answers to complex problems instead of taking the time to actually understand the problems.
In other words, even though they know they can't trust politicians, they continue to take a politician's word at face value for:
A) the existence of a problem,
B) the cause of the problem,
C) the blame for the problem, and
D) the fix for the problem!
O.K. Rant done. I feel better now.
