Why is everyone so outraged at President Chavez's remarks about Bush? Because they were true? While the term "devil" is a bit subjective, Bush is an imperialist dictator who is unqualified for the job and is commiting genocide. I may not agree with all of Chavez's view, but he was pretty dead on in his U.N. speech earlier this week. I also liked that he acknowledged that it's the American government that's persuing these agendas, not the American people, who want peace.
Even Democrats are coming to Bush's defense on this one, saying (for reasons that elude me) that only Americans have the right to say such things about Bush. Okay. Hiya. I just did too.
It terrifies me to watch the news these days and to think how many people are going to be sitting in the streets and in the libraries in ten years suffering from PTSD because of this asshole. It terrifies me to hear that extremists are responding to him by threatening to take over the world and cut off my head if I don't convert to Islam. It terrifies me to hear that Bush wants to go into Pakistan to find Osama Bin Laden even though Pakistan isn't too keen on it. How is this any different from Hitler or Nixon? Haven't we learned anything in the last one hundred years?
