Friends of mine may have heard me say that Scott, Andrew, and I have this adorable little Fruedian triple going on. Andrew's the id, Scott's the super ego, and I'm the ego. Basically, the ego delegates and tries to keep the id and super ego from killing each other.
Boys amuse me. They make for good research.
Perhaps these recent short exchanges with my boys interest me so greatly because I haven't had a whole lot of human contact in the last couple of days. For the last almost three days now, I've been pretty much camping out on my couch like a hobo with my computer. First I read everything that I'm certain I want in the book cover to cover, which was very enlightening and fun if you're as geeky as I am. I also took some notes and psychoanalyzed the characters a bit, which if you know me, is just the most fun thing I could ever do for myself. God, I have issues. I also started working on a chapter that I realized I need once I read through the manuscript.
Don't get me wrong, it's nowhere near completed, I was just having a lot of fun with it. For the most part, I've been writing this story out of order, and to see how I managed to fit it together was really exciting. There's some stuff that didn't work out like I planned it to, but it ended up making a lot of sense. I don't know if this is going to translate to people with brains that work properly, but it gave me a better sense of why the characters are who they are.
Something that makes me a little sad: How many months must I wait for Nip/Tuck? Ryan Murphy, do not leave me in limbo like this! Please, overrun me with more characters and absent penises!!!
Today is the day that I manage to get everything done and then get to Columbus before my parents go to bed. Where the hell did all this Christmas come from. It really snuck up on me this year. I think going home is going to be good for me though. This semester was pretty exhausting, and I have a feeling that the next one is only going to be stranger.
