We sleep together a lot, mostly for companionship, because both of us are people who prefer to sleep with others. It makes the dreaming better, for one thing; moreover, our bodies fit well together. We enjoy complimentary sleeping positions, limbs flung this way and that, comfortable to one another regardless of how we wake up, perhaps all owed to the fact that we share the same astrological sign or some other mystical relic of past life experience.
Often, it'll look like this:
Me, laying supine, asleep with my mouth closed, head flung this way and that in a messy tornado of hair, and he, wrapped around me with long thin limbs, serpentine, as is his way.
Then, other times, we'll shift, with me on my side and him behind me, entangled in a clumsily splayed embrace, and this is the point during which the big, huge, puffy black & white cat positions himself in the space in between the tops of my thighs and my belly, purring and stretching, reaching his paws up to me, interjecting himself into our sleeping mess.
Him, me, the cat, in a comfortable bed up high. The best way I've ever slept.
