I met with my doctor today about the MRI's I had this week, and we may have finally figured out what's causing my back pain!
It turns out I have a hemangioma in my T12 vertebral body. A hemangioma, from how it was described to me, is a benign tumor made up of blood vessels. In my case, it's in the perfect position to press into my spinal cord, and most likely is the cause of most if not all of my back pain, as right around T12 is where I feel it the most.
There's a variety of potential treatments; my doctor is going to consult with my vascular surgeon, a spine orthopedic surgeon, and an interventional radiologist to find out what best fits my situation.
This explains why all my physical therapy doesn't seem to be helping, and why it's getting worse over time, and means that there's something treatable that once taken care of might alleviate some if not all of my pain!
I might be able to do things like sit at a desk for work or not have to worry about the chairs I'm sitting in everywhere I go!
