I'm about as ready as I can get at the moment for going to London now; I've purchased some necessary additions to my wardrobe, such as a hoodie with a zipper in the front and several button up shirts, as I might not be able to pull over t-shirts or my usual sweatshirts for a while due to the incision on my chest. Also purchased my first fancy piece of luggage, with wheels and an extend-y handle and everything. I've always kind of wanted one of those, they seem so handy!

It's still overwhelming and nerve-wracking. I ended up not working today due to it, instead taking it easy and getting everything figured out for it, or at least as much as I can while still here. I've contacted doctors and purchased things and sent important emails and all that good stuff, so now I can hopefully try and relax some throughout the rest of the week.

I had an incredibly good visit with my therapist today; she has been so helpful with all of this. I can tell that this is more than just a job to her, and that she truly cares for her patients, and without her help I would probably be a nervous wreck right now.

Here's to my birthday being me in a hospital bed recovering from surgery and free of heart worries. That may sound sarcastic or deprecating, but I'm truly looking forward to celebrating my birthday with no longer having to worry about any of this. It will be one of many future days where I can stop obsessively monitoring my heart rate.

If I don't post anything here in the first few days, I am most likely fine. I plan to post something here as soon as I am up to doing so, to let everyone know I'm okay, but it might take a while, as expected.

Actually, while I'm thinking about it; if you'd like a direct email from me for afterwards, let me know here and we'll get it sorted so that I have an email list already set up to send a mass email out to everyone. I'm certainly going to have a lot of people to tell, and that's much easier to do once than many times over while I'm laid up in a hospital bed.
