So it's finally over. I'm suffering from a pretty big case of the post-con blues, but that'll hopefully be gone by tomorrow, along with my sleep-deprivation XD
I only went to one panel today, but it was well worth it. Yaoi Let's Make A Deal was -awesome- and funny, and I got a book out of it! Thanks to the Russia who gave it to me, you were such a sweetie! After that was the closing ceremony, and that was heartbreaking in and of itself, cause it meant that I had to go home :( But it was also totally awesome, cause they were passing out prizes left and right, and I got a niiiice hardcore gay smut book for my Aerith cosplay handing out flowers <33
I'm so going to miss everyone I met there, though I got numbers from the group I was hanging out with the most, and I'm totally intending to stalk them later XD
And, because I know I said I'd do it and because it's the only way I'll get everything down and remembered, my Big List o' Loot.
Buttons: I got Seme, Uke, Yaoi, and Mokona buttons from the Dealer's Room (nekoknickknacks.etsy.com) and a Puppy Shipper, That's what the Uke Said, and a new 'Fanfic writers do it between the sheets' pin from the Registration desk (my old Fanfic one got rained on :( )
One duct-tape rose in rainbow colors - and that was totally amazing, I have it next to me now!
One hairpin made with a D-20 in a pretty shade of blue - I'm wearing it now XD I'll post the site later if I have it.
One beautifully done print of Sephiroth, Angeal, and Genesis (and sadly, the only FF7 merchandise I saw), from www.cordeval.com
One game of Checkers: a prize for participating in the Yaoi Checkers game (see previous post), and if I ever get a hold of the guy I competed against, I want a rematch cause that was so much fun!
One copy of Desire of the Gods (manga) that was obtained at the Let's Make a Deal panel thanks to Russia. The main story is beautifully written and the artwork is pretty too, the middle story has fantastic artwork and an okay plot, but the last story is not a favorite of mine cause I don't like the art style and the plot seemed strange. But I would definitely buy the book for the first two stories in it.
One copy of Spare Parts, a Romentics novel that was my prize for giving away flowers <3 I haven't started reading it yet, but it looks goooood.
One copy of Hot Cargo, an -amazingly- smutty book that I won at auction that I started reading and -damn-. I love it so far. Buy it, buy it NOW. Written by Nicki Bennett and Ariel Tachna, it's just... guh. My brain melted by about page 8 and still hasn't recovered. I also kinda wanna take it to work to read XD
One pair of shuriken earrings, made out of origami out of Starburst wrappers. These are just too adorable for words, and I think I got a card from this booth too, so I'll post that if I find it.
One copy of Winter Demon #4, courtesy of my awesome boyfriend who won it and gave it to me. Written by Yamila Abraham and illustrated by Rhea Silvan of yaoipress.com, it's very, very good to read. Hot and well-done and yum. I haven't read the first three books, but I feel safe in recommending them.
One Alice wig, won at the Wonderland Host Club silent auction. I'm sooo going to use that, I just don't know for what XD
And that, to the best of my knowledge, is everything! One final shout-out to everyone who ran, went to, or was involved with the con - you guys are awesome, and I'm definitely going to come back next year, hopefully to run a panel or two!
I'll post pictures as soon as I can find a way to get them off of my cellphone, cause I have pictures of Jareth and a ton of fanservice from the Wonderland panel.
So, to sum up:
Time driven: 5 hours to St. Louis, 1 hour spent crossing St.Louis
Money spent: $60, give or take, for just loot/pizza
Panels gone to out of panels planned to attend: 8/6 (only about three of which I had actually planned to go to)
Friends made: Too many to count
Pictures taken: Well over 30.
Seeing two cute male cosplayers make out less than a foot away while in line for Yaoi Checkers? Priceless.
