Vanic Value 4: Protection
Protection
I value place, power, and peace. These are worth protecting. I do well to protect my rootedness in this place. I do well to protect the flow of power into and through me. I do well to protect the peace I feel when it is present. I value protection.
Some think that only eternal things are of value. They care little for transient things including life in this world. I disagree. Even though my rootedness in this place, the flow of power and sense of peace are cyclic and therefore transient, they are of value to me worth protecting when they are present. I think that transient things are of value because they are transient. All things are passing; therefore we do well to value them while they are here. I am transient, so is all that I love. Everything that is valuable to me is worth protecting.
I protect myself and those I love. I do not let those who do harm to me and those I love get away with it. I hold them accountable. I do harm to those who do harm to me and those I love. Given no other option, I will defend myself and those I love with deadly force. In other words, I return harm to its sender. I return it physically, mentally, energetically and socially. If necessary, I return the harm to its sender three-fold. My intention is that whoever harms me or those I love does not do it again.
However, reactive protection is not my primary protective practice. I do not simply wait for what I value to be harmed and then react to protect it. My primary protective practice is preventative protection. I protect myself, those I love and our goods magically. In other words, I direct energy, power, for the specific purpose of protecting all that is near and dear to me. Whoever would harm us will harm themselves. The harm they would do to us returns to them.
Preventative protection works. I know. I have seen it happen many times. But it does not work all of the time. I still experience harm, so do those I love. Such things happen in this life. Even so, I value protection.
