School

Hmm, so maybe I won't be taking my exams at the beginning of August. Fortunately, I have a great co-worker and will be able to take the leave time I need for exams in the middle of the term. But to sit for exams, my qualifying paper needs to be approved.

The feedback I receive a few days ago was very positive, but I got nailed on grammar (again). Fortunately, I married a stickler who enjoys proofing.

In reviewing and recycling some files (handouts from high school suddenly seem less important now). I was able to look over some grades and remarks on papers written from middle school (well the 4 that I kept) through grad school. Usually, they praise the content, but suggest I proofread more carefully.

The truth of the matter is, procrastinator extrordinaire that I am, I never leave the time to both type and proofread my papers. So now as it comes to things that I go through several cycles of revisions, I find that really missed out on training my eye to catch typos and errors. (and I am sure that speed reading course materials hasn't helped).

I was a little late in submitting my "final" version of the Qualifying Paper to my advisor and she returned the favor by not looking at it (though she did send an email saying she was busy (in April)) until just recently.

~sigh~ I should of asked beagledance to look it over a couple of months ago.
