No More Oceans

I've had this on my computer for forever, but I've always felt weird about posting it. Apparently, gay porn? No problem! Semi-respectable original prose? Hide it! Neverletitseethelightofday! It helps that I am aided, at the moment, by the liquid courage of alcoholic Shirley Temples, which are, in case you've never had one, dangerously tasty. ( Read more... )

Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it. I think my issue is more that this is My Fanfic Journal, and I worry that fandomy people are going to be like "Wtf? There is absolutely no mansexin' in this! DISAPPOINTED."

Thank you so much! For some reason, I am so much more comfortable posting fanfiction on the interwebs than original fiction, because (and oh wow this sounds snobby) for a lot of people, the expectations are lower. But I'm so glad you liked it! I will have to man up and post more in the future.

This was really beautiful. It grounded in such a strong reality that as I read the character's face came out so clear to me. It felt as if I reading about you. It's not a criticism, really. It just felt like something achingly person, and it made me wibble as a result.

Thank you! Oddly enough, I've written straight-up autobiographical peer-into-my-soul stories that didn't feel as personal as this. I'm glad that's how it came across:)

That was an amazing peice. I don't really know how to do commentary about this, because it just was, you know? I loved it, and it rang incredibly true.
The last two sentences in particular really stuck with me.
I wish our writing teacher would have us read things like this instead of the superficial crap from our textbook.
