New yearsU Jirihof is closed until 6th January,Skrytech is just closed - no details and Fakup the student bar is also shut until they all come back from their Christmas hols. Vit was recommending Barca at Cerveny Rych. There was supposed to be a live band. Again I was lucky 2 minutes at the Petriny metro station, straight on a train and off at Borislavaka and no sooner up the stairs out to the tram stop and a tram to Cerveny Vyrch
. Why can't it it always be like that?
When I got there at 20:00 hours no sign of Vit I took my life in my hands and crossed the four lanes of traffic and two tram tracks to check out the 'dive' on the other side of Evropska - not there either so back to Barca. He turned up a little later, Full of apologies for there being no live band and even more annoying by saying the DJ playing the music was even older than me. Gradually the Czech beer had its effect. We became happier and it all became noisier,
Much to my surprise I found myself dancing with some Czech girls. You can measure the effects of Czech beer and of fernat. The first effect is you feel happy and join in with songs. The second effect is you you start thinking you can dance. OK so far but the third is slightly worse when you think you can sing on the kareoke. Fourth - much worse- you think you can sing in Czech. Fifth is when you reach the open air and have no idea where the metro station is - have no idea if the metro closed at midnight and it's gone one o' clock and you wish you had gone home with her.
