The real Alaska.
So, there's an actual petition to get Sarah Palin's show on Alaska canceled. Which I think is great, and actually kinda funny, but I can't really say I agree with the reasons stated. Or, at least, two of the reasons: the hunting of wolves and polar bears. Not that I'm fully behind the whole aerial hunting thing, but wolves are a real threat to Alaskan communities. (Case in point.) Polar bears actually do hunt humans. And not in a self-defense way, in a, "Ooh, YUMMY!" way. So, yeah. You know, survival of the fittest.
A lot of people really don't get that Alaska is, largely, still wilderness. "The Last Frontier" wasn't picked as a state motto just because it looks shiny on the license plate. This is the same problem I have with them stopping logging around here...
