"Okay, I see there's no beating around the bush with you," Myra chuckled. She took a sip of her own coffee, using the moment to think of the best way to answer the question.

"One day, a man in a suit picked me up in a car with blacked out windows," she said with a nonchalant shrug. "He told me I pretty much had no choice. And he was right."

"No choice?" Annie picked at the muffin she'd chosen and gave her new partner (she didn't want to use the term shadow) a curious look. "That sounds kind of ominous."

"Suits and blacked out windows?" Annie was wondering if it was really like in the movies sometimes - though a second voice popped up in her mind almost immediately and ran down the car chases, the bank vaults and the jet and she immediately realized that yes, sometimes cliches worked just as well.
