After a gorgeous weekend spent getting married to the love of her life, followed by two weeks along the coast of Greece, Annie returned to work in the same mood that she'd spent those few weeks: utterly blissful

When Annie woke up in the morning, she found herself sprawled across Webb's side of the bed, her face where his body should be. Fumbling for the alarm clock, she hit the snooze button and then pushed herself to a sitting position.
Hurrying into the shower, she kept her hair up and made it as quick as possible, then dressed for the day in a skirt and blouse that made her feel pretty before heading downstairs. The smell of coffee made her smile -- happy and wistful all at once.
"Morning," she said as she entered the kitchen, wrapping an arm around his waist and kissing him on the cheek.
"Or your job title." She opened her eyes and gave him a very sly smile. "It might have had something to do with your suits, though. You've always been the sexiest man I've ever known."
Then she went back to her coffee, looking at him appreciatively over the top of her cup.
"Ego?" She pretended to think about it as she finished her coffee and set the cup in the sink. Looking over her shoulder at him as she exited the room to get her shoes, she gave him a flirty, mock-confused look. "You have an ego?"
It didn't take but a minute before her heels were clicking across the hardwood floors. "One more day. I can do this. Are we carpooling or do you want me to drive myself?"
"I'll drive myself today and that way, I can stop by Danielle's after to talk to her, too, maybe pick her up. I'll call her at ten. It's too early now." She watched with fondness as he finished dressing and then smiled. "You really are a very sexy man. Now, stop distracting me, I have to go."
Stepping close, she gave him a kiss so she could get a jump start on the agent parking lot.
At the office, Annie stopped for her regular coffee and got all the way to her desk with it before she was forced to leave it behind when she was taken away for a more intense briefing on the upcoming deep cover op.
The next several hours were spent discussing the in's and out's and when she walked out for a break at quarter after 11, the coffee was cold. She put it in the trash and headed for the elevators before she remembered that she had to call Danielle.
Leaving her sister a message to call her back, she headed downstairs for a second cup of coffee, and this one, she brought with her into the meeting. It lasted another two hours and by the time she called Danielle again, she was afraid that her sister wouldn't be available for dinner. She was.
Before she headed into Meeting Part Three, she left a message for Webb telling him they were on for dinner at seven.
Webb had a day full of meetings himself, one briefing after another to catch him up on what went on during their time in Greece. A lot of things were going well, a lot of things weren't, and a lot depended on Annie's successful completion of her mission.
It was a stressful day.
It was almost 5:30 when he noticed his voice mail blinking. Annie and Danielle were going to be at the house at seven. Hopefully, he'd make it home in time and Annie was making good on her idea to pick something up.
Annie got home just after five. After she changed her clothes, she promptly laid down on the bed and took a quick nap with the promise to make it quick. It wasn't.
Startling awake at 6:45, she noticed it was dark and heard the knock on the door. Bouncing down the stairs, she opened the door to her sister and smiled, a little flustered. "I'm sorry. I totally fell asleep. It was a long day."
She glanced at the grandfather clock in the foyer and shook her head. "He'll be here any second, but obviously dinner isn't going to be anything magical. Sandwiches?"
Danielle laughed. "I think this is the first time I haven't seen the Super Couple totally prepared for everything. Sandwiches are fine."
In the kitchen, Annie set about with the peanut butter and honey, making several, finishing just as Clay walked in.
Webb came home around 7:00. An accident on highway topped off his already stellar day.
He didn't even notice the light was on in the kitchen, electing to go right upstairs and change out of his suit. Clay came back downstairs wearing a collared white shirt, different from the one he wore under his suit, jeans, and his glasses.

He was already half dressed for work, pants, shirt, suspenders and tie. The rest of the suit was in the living room.

The bliss was written all over her face as she leaned against the counter and closed her eyes, taking small sips.

Clay finished gathering up his things to get through the work day and headed to his car, then off to Langley.
