[Before moving in together] Thank you CNN for a new meme...

1. Agree on who will pay for what.
= I have a cell phone and since I'm going to take over that bathtub, I'll pay the water bill.

2. Agree on how to handle an unplanned pregnancy.
= I have an IUD and nothing is getting by that. We're not 'unplanned' kind of people.

3. Decide if you're both on the same page when it comes to marriage (in general, and to each other).
= In general, I think we're on the same page. To each other... well. We'll see.

4. Come up with at least one reason to move in together other than finances and convenience.
= The only reason left: Sex.

5. Consider some of the realistic challenges cohabitation might create.
= Well, carpooling won't be as much of a challenge, dinner together will be easier, as will chasing away pesky nightmares. Plus? That bathtub is another positive. I'm not seeing a downside. OH! His food snobbery.

6. Meet each other's "people," including close friends and family members.
= I've met his mom and he actually wore jeans to meet Chloe and Katia. That right there makes him a keeper.

7. Know each other's financial situation.
= ... he wins

8. Agree on a three-year plan.
= I promise not to die and he promises to keep watch.

9. Say "I love you" to each other.
= Every day.

10. Decide whose bed you're going to keep.
= He has a pillowtop mattress that he probably paid two grand for. His.

11. Spend more than two nights in a row together.
= If we spend more than that apart, he gets antsy.

12. Experience heartbreak on some level.
= Together or separate. Because... yeah.

13. Celebrate at least one major holiday together.
= Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming up and I can't lie, I'm a little nervous. He bought me $700 shoes when I was gone for a week.

14. Discuss how to divvy household chores.
= I'll do the dinner dishes after he goes to bed at night and he'll pretend to be asleep. It'll work out. Except, I don't do windows.

15. Pick out at least one new object of some value -- financial, aesthetic, or symbolic -- for the home together.
= Have you seen his house? It's pretty, um... well, it looks nice. I'm sure we could find something, though. He'd probably just let me pick something and be done with it.

16. Have a trial sleepover for your pets.
= He has fish. They're pretty.

17. Travel together.
= Check.

18. Make sure there's enough closet space for both of you.
= I actually laughed. He has two closets in his bedroom and one of them would be all mine.

19. Have at least one big fight.
= ... done.
