22 июня будет лекция по этой теме в
Московском Американском центре,
ВГБИЛ, м. Таганская.
In this lecture we will explore the lives and works of two poets-one Russian, and one American-who were fascinated with photography. For both Marina Tsvetaeva (1892-1941) and Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997), photography was a hobby, a passion, and an important part of their creative lives. During the lecture, you will see photographs taken by both poets and will learn what role photography played in their lives and their poetry. Molly Thomasy Blasing holds a BA from Harvard University and an MA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she is currently a PhD candidate in Slavic Languages and Literatures. As a Fulbright Fellow in Moscow this year, she has been conducting research for her dissertation, which examines the intersection of photography and Russian poetry. Molly has taught Russian language and literature at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and at Middlebury College’s Davis School of Russian.
