Character Information

General
Canon Source: Pandora Hearts
Canon Format: Manga
Character's Name: Alice
Character's Age: Chronologically 113 / Physically 13 (← Explanation offered below.)

Conditional: If your character is 13 years of age or under, please clarify how they will be played. Though Alice appears as if she's just hitting puberty, it's important to note that she isn't human-- or at least not anymore. After her murder 100 years ago, she's spent the last century or so bound to the Abyss, a distorted dimension inhabited by grotesque nightmares called Chains. She's considered to be one of these monsters herself, and has garnered a reputation (accurate or not) as the "Bloodstained Black Rabbit".

What form will your character's NV take? A large Victorian locket, with mirrors inside that reflect text and images. She needs a simple object that can be easily carried on her person, and is far too impatient to write down her thoughts. (Most recordings will be in some form of REALLY LOUD dictation.)

Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities:
Alice can take on the form of a giant black rabbit, one that wields an equally impressive scythe and can spawn devastating, spearheaded chains at will. She is the strongest of the Chains, the very embodiment of the word due to her inextricable link to the Abyss. Because of this, she's easily able to pick up on the presence of anything else that comes from the warped realm. Her method of combat is anything but graceful-- she relies on brute strength and primal instinct. An animal, really.

(NOTE: She's only able to escape the Abyss through her contract with Oz, however I'm assuming that the nature of the City would allow Alice to use and regulate her powers without that bond, and without Raven's seal.)

Fighting aside, she has a terrifying appetite that, if left unchecked, could very well cause a food shortage in a small country.

Weapons: Alice doesn't wield any weapons-- other than the occasional silverware set-- when she isn't in her Chain form. (It could be said that she is the weapon.)

History/Personality
Character History: Pandora Hearts Wiki

Point in Canon: Chapter 56 - When Alice accompanies Oz (and the other members of Pandora) to his second Coming of Age Ceremony, hosted at Isla Yura's mansion.

Their objective is to find one of the seals that's binding the soul of Glen Baskerville, however their operation is compromised by the arrival of the Baskervilles, as well as Yura's own schemes (IT'S A TRAP). Their chase after Philipe unsuspectingly leads them right to the sealing stone, which renders Alice immobile. She's taken captive as a sacrifice for Yura's ritual and is last seen lying on an altar in pain, as Oz unleashes the power of the B-Rabbit against the Chain Humpty Dumpty.

Character Personality:

You know the proverbial red crayon in the box? The color that everyone fights over? The short and blunt one? That's Alice.

Her existence is a duality, as her soul parallels the Will of the Abyss; an entity that's capable of altering time and reality, whose abilities are coveted by underhanded factions and desperate individuals alike. She is constantly referred to as one of the "keys" necessary to release the powers of the Abyss-- like opposite sides of the same coin, one doesn't exist without the other. Alice and the Will are twins birthed from a human mother in the Abyss, and this dark connection reveals itself in the violence that's deeply rooted within her (manifested in the B-Rabbit), and the voices that haunt her with increasing frequency.

She was reincarnated as a Chain, with nothing but a name and the conviction to find her lost memories. (Ironic, as she was the one to scatter them in the first place.) Consequently, she's forgotten certain human emotions as well-- misplaced, more accurately. She first comes off as hostile and heartless upon her return to the surface world, with a limited understanding of her own feelings. (She acts more like a stray cat than an actual rabbit.) For Alice, everything comes in varying degrees of tactile absolutes. Loneliness is 'cold' and 'dark', joy is 'warmth' and 'light'. Superiority means "I will sit on this pile of crates right here and laugh at you from my elevated height".

But for all the mysteries shrouding her past, there's hardly anything enigmatic or inscrutable about the girl herself; just the opposite. She's easier to read than a children's picture book, and comes to the table with all cards face up, face value. When she's angry, things explode. When she's happy, they don't. When she's hungry, get out of the way. She's severely lacking in subtlety, even more so in strategy, and her bullheaded mannerisms are a headache for her companions more often than not. (Alice might not fully comprehend her own emotions, but they're painfully obvious to everyone else.)

As the strongest Chain to come from the Abyss, she's incredibly haughty and self-entitled. She's labeled Oz as "her property" and is quick to snap at anyone who might threaten her position (a certain 'kelp-haired imbecile' comes to mind). Her temper belies her inner self, however. She's terribly afraid of being alone, terribly afraid of who she was and who she might be.

But even these doubts are not enough to stop her. For all her many faults, Alice has truly admirable resolve, a cheerful optimism that has not been dampened by the long years she's spent in confinement. (And she's been imprisoned as both a human and a Chain.) She may be stupid and headstrong, insensitive and immature, but by the same token she is completely genuine and honest. Her perception is not as dull as her behavior suggests, in fact she can be quite keen and considerate (in her own, odd ways). The girl has grown to be fiercely attached to and protective of her friends, and will even butt into tense situations to make peace (...or provide comic relief). She's highly inquisitive and open to new ideas, and though she hasn't found her true identity yet, she is able to accept everything about her current self, without pity. She wants to know, so badly, what her reason for existence is, but in a way she's already (unknowingly) figuring it out for herself.

Appearance/PB: Images of both her forms can be found in the Pandora Hearts Wiki link.
