I am in kind of a metal kick lately. About a month ago I started downloading Dragonforce, then came Rahpsody, then Cryptopsy, then Iron Maiden. I have found that after a long night of socialization when I am driving home, it helps a hell of a lot to keep me awake, plus it's fucking metal ( Read more... )

It is still noise, but I can still enjoy it.

You should really hear Dr. Lloyd's description of music.

We basically decided in class that music is anything with pitch (or absence of pitch), time and I believe dynamics and structure.

Screaming is a reproducible frequency and hence, a pitch. It's not technically noise by the definition.

But then again noise is in the ear of the beholder.

This is an old argument bvut a good one. It's the musician's form of "what is art?"
