And the summer goes on

It has been crazy drama at work this last few days. A small spat between two girls has erupted into this mega deal. Mainly because one girl, the agressor in this whole affair, has now claimed an older cousin of the other girl came at her in a bath room with a knife, wearing a mask. After a bit of interrogation my bosses came to the conclusion that she is most likely lying, but it all must be investiigated. So then we had to contact school police, then central. Make up a very detailed report, check over security camera videos (BHS has security cameras), throw in some more paperwork. Fax everything to like 5 people downtown. It is just crazy. All because this girl is starving for attention and decided to make up a story, that gets more detailed and more vague the more you question her.

If you met the other girl, who the first girl claims organized a knife attack in a bathroom, you know that this complete and utter bullshit. She is in fact the nicest girl I know, and was always a pleasure to have in class when I taught at North.

Drama is one thing, but to have it so late in the program, when we are wrapping things up is just unnecessary stress. My boss was wicked stressed today.

I also watched "Super Size Me" yesterday on TV. Wow. I am basically not going to eat fast food ever again. I also swore off soda, because I had to choose. Soda or Beer. So Beer won.

I am trying to get in shape because I have been slack these past few decades. When I had such a high metabolism I could eat anything and be skinny as a rail. Well the day I long suspected where that metabolism would slow down, came at some point last year. I have probably gained 15-20 pounds over the last two years. So I started running a few months ago, and while I am still doing it, I don't do it enough. I am also just trying to be more active in general.

Beyond my meager exsistence, the world seems to be going to hell in a hand basket. Israel just killed two, possibly four, U.N.  observers today  during missle strikes.  Our governemnt seems to think giving Israel a military free hand, while feigning diplomatic solutions with both Israel and Lebanon they can play the safe road, when all the really want is for Israel to blow Hezollah out of the water. Meanwhile people die. Soldiers, civilians, including woman and children. Not to mention the life of a 15 year old Arab girl who died today in Israel. What did she do to deserve such an end? Not accept Christ into to her life?...Makes me sick. My prayers go out to her and her family.
