I figured I'd throw this out there as a discussion topic. So like a month ago, on the way to work we're listening to the radio (102.7 Kiss FM) while they do this bit called the 'Flower shop.' Typically women will call the show and have Ryan Seacrest and company (while posing as a online flower service offering free flowers) call up the disgruntled person's significant other... in hopes of finding out who they send the flowers to. Some say they are suspicious and probably want to catch them and others say they want to prove that nothing is going on. So the calls that always blow up tend to be when the guy wants the flowers delivered to another woman.
But honestly folks... if that trust isn't fundamentally there, don't you think that relationship is doomed? I personally feel that trust is a must in any relationship.
Anyway... this time a guy (Matt) calls up with a problem... he says his buddy signs up for an online dating service like match.com, and while Matt is surfing the site with his buddy, he finds a profile of his gf. They've been going out for like a year and they have plans to live together, so he's currently looking for an apartment for the 2 of them. I assume Matt was hoping that maybe that it really wasn't her (someone using her pics)... or maybe that it's an old profile/account. In any case, he'd like to know what's up.
So the radio show has an intern call up claiming to be from ''match.com,' calling regarding customer satisfaction. How she likes the servie... is she a current user... has she used the service to meet anyone... is she planning on canceling the service?
So the gf reveals that, yes, she's met several people using the service... but that she is probably planning to cancel soon... because she's met some guy named Mike and she's hoping it will work out. The intern tells her thats great and asks what he does... the gf says that he's got MONEY and that he's an investment banker or something. Although she tries to add 'but money isn't everything.' Not only is she BUSTED, but she makes herself out to be a gold digger. Well then Matt bursts out on the line confronting her. He's obviously outraged that she's been cheating behind his back. All she has to say is that she is outraged, that they are invading her privacy, that they aren't married, that they aren't in a committed relationship, and that she is free to do what she wants and see other people if she wants to. Oh and what I found to be the kicker... 'I was going to tell you... I just wanted to make sure that things with Mike were going to work out.' That's gotta hurt... Oh I was gonna keep you as a back up in case things didn't go as planned... but I'm ready to dump you when the next best thing comes along.
What we learned:
-That radio can still be good entertainment.
-Some people only view marriage as the only committed relationship.
-That people say the dumbest things when they are backed into a corner and are obviously wrong.
-That we refer to a woman like this as a lying gold digging skank ho biatch! LOL
