The Hillsong United concert was THE happiest 2 hours I've had in years. I was literally bouncing up and down with excitement even before the concert began! I was so filled with anticipation, and rightfully so. Joel (the lead singer) opened with a passage from the bible about singing and dancing to praise God, and I knew it was going to be the most unique concert I'll ever attend. He wasn't about to play us songs; he was going to lead us in worship. His every movement, every word was made out of love for God so that we too may experience that love. Jumping for joy, rocking out, raising his hands in the air and singing praises--all for Jesus. It was so powerful and so beautiful. I didn't even know all the songs, but I didn't need to. The organizers flashed the lyrics up on video screens, and on top of that the whole building was just so filled with the Spirit that I found myself singing, jumping, praying in perfect harmony with everyone else. I didn't need to pretend to know anything or be anyone; I was just there, completely free to love my Lord. That's what I felt, raising my hands up high and closing my eyes and screaming my heart out -- I felt free. Suddenly I understood things, realized what changes I need to make in my life and grew the courage to carry those changes out. Suddenly I was brave, empowered, and everything was just so clear. And I prayed the high wouldn't go away.
I've already taken one step. I really hope I don't forget what I need to remember to start doing things right. :P
