Attendance and Character Drops

Feb 27, 2009 14:13

To be flat-out honest, I don't know where this game is going with player participation dropping off. We have threads that were started last year that haven't really gone anywhere. The Autobot City thread is the only one that has moved in the past week. I don't know what else I can do, as a mod, to nudge things along. We gave you setting and ( Read more... )

I always believed this game had potential to it, but there's only so much a few people can do with something in such a large setting.

That said, I'm adding my voice as co-mod to this... Please let us know where you stand. If you've been busy, but still want to play, that's fine. If you don't think you're game for this, do let us know. Knowing in this case is better than not knowing. Communication is what we'd like, here, and no one's going to get mad if you've decided this isn't your thing.

I want to keep playing, I really do, but with responses being slow, it's hard to keep interested. I'm just as guilty but I tend to play better when the action moves a bit quicker. Then I lose track of time and 3 weeks have passed before I know it and I haven't checked back.

There's really nothing going on in the Ark at the moment. If feels like we're all just making busy work waiting for an actual plot. Not really sure what can be done about that.

Yeah, I'm a lot of help, I know. But count me in to continue for a while at least.

Reply to own comment. And I don't know if it's a problem with LJ or with this comm or what but if I didn't keep getting an error message and losing my work every single time I try to post, I might be happier coming here too. It's very frustrating to have to redo a post sometimes 3 times if I forget to copy it before hitting post comment.

Well, anyone who didn't join the Autobot City plot was left to their own devices. Once that wraps up things will pick up at the Ark.

As for LJ issues, I think its the website -- I mean, how can just a community itself be causing an issue? (Unless we're just that much of an Epic Failure). I haven't had trouble with posting but I have had various odd glitches with the layout and graphics occur.

Actually, it might be browsers reacting to ad banners. I don't think some of them are coded correctly or something. I do know they cause my browser to lag sometimes.

You're right about the not participating in the Autobot City plot. We need to just participate more, I guess.

As for the error messages, it only happens on Splintered. Not here on Static or anywhere else. It could be my browser, it could be my log in not being right. I don't know. Leaving the comm, logging in and out and coming back usually takes care of the issue or using two or three browsers at a time but it's still an inconvenient annoyance.

Also, if Jo drops Steeljaw then I'm going to drop Beachcomber. There are other characters I'd rather play so... When Jo comes back, I'll see what's going on with her.

I've been just as guilty as anyone in letting this drop off. I've been getting ready for boot camp and it's distracted me from most other things. I do like this RP and I do think it has a lot of potential. Perhaps we just need one singular thing to get this thing going? Or more players to participate? I really don't want this to fizzle out and die. Especially since I'll be leaving not long from now myself (March 15). Any ideas?

If anyone thinks I'm harping on the two week rule more with some people than others it's because I don't know where those people are. Others who are on/over the two week rule, I do know where they are.

I think it's fair if we're not really given much warning. I know RL gets crazy sometimes and people sometimes forget, but it is common courtesy to just leave a quick blip saying "hey, may be out for a bit."
