So, 2 weeks after the fact, I'm still unemployed,... Money is runnin low, but I'm not out, so I started the process to draw unemployment bennies and can start my claim Monday.
Job market really blows right now, most companies that were hiring aren't doing anything right now due to the weak economy. everyone is running scared it seems, wich is retarded coz all that does is weaken the economy MORE.
Clue here people, if you wanna keep things going, keep running as if everything were normal. Assholes!

I haven't heard back from the people at the Island County transfer station, so I'm assuming I didn't get chosen for that job. Bummer too, $16.25/hr +full bennies to start isn't all bad. Ah well, I still have a few more irons in the fire with the county.

I did make it past round two with BN&SF Railroad for the 1st line supervisor position in Vancouver WA. I have a real world intro, skills test, and if I dont fuck that away, a possible face to face interview on Sept 4th. All at the rail yard in Vancouver, so I'll get to see where I'd be working should I make it. Not counting my horses before they're foaled, but I'm hopeful this works out.

To fill the gap until then, I may go talk to one of Jamies friends at a money laund,... er, "pay day loan" office near her workplace about getting a job there. The company pays you in relation to your past employment. I'm sure there's a cap there, but if I could start at better than minimum wage I's be stoked, if I could even get $15/hr that would rock! Better yet, Jamie & I can carpool and save some bones there as well.

Time will tell, just tired of not knowing what's gonna happen. However, I AM getting several projects completed that have been sittin around for ages!
I have toyed with the idea of doing a photo essay of some of the very old farmstead homes in Skagit valley and got my 1st set of pix for that t'other day. Gonna go hit places randomly and see if I cant build up at least 30 homes before I do the chop/edit portion and submit it for publication. Now, if I just had a good layout program,...
I have a old police light bar that I've converted over to a remote switch setup, just need a 12V capacitor & a power source and I'll be able to sell it off as DJ equipment. Plug it in, hit the remote buttons as needed, and there you are, party to go! It works now, but ya have to plug it to a car battery, NOT practical for a party (altho we did a simialr thing in Antarctica, we just ran a cord outside to a truck that was idling to keep the power up all night).
Got a good amount of the house arranged and extra shit in storage, & I'm gonna start on a LARGE bookshelf today.
I'm also experimenting with a setup to make our own foam machine for some private foam parties (much fun!). If I get that to work out well and can make it for a decent amount I may market them on E-pay (I see them all the time, cheap POS machines that are marked up 3-400% over materials costs).
After all that, I might drag the Coke machine out and get it all assembled and ready to go again, may as well since I paid all that cash to have the parts powder coated and got all new decals made up already.
Plenty to do, just nothin that frikkin pays dammit! :P
