President day.
So, today, I'm not working, President day privilege. Anyhow, I'll swing by the office in the late afternoon, I have some sampling to do. And I'll also give a 2-hours tutoring lesson.
it's around 12:30 pm, and I just woke up an hour ago. I had some trouble sleeping lately, insomnia again, so I took some sleeping pills yesterday night. that worked OK, but I can't wake up anymore! good thing I hadn't had any plan this morning.
This last week was fun at work, my new boss is pretty cool, and very excited and eager to work (as I were when I started. And well, as I still am, I must say). The good thing with him starting this week, is I could manage to get 2 free lunches on the company! Small price for a long week, I left the office at 9:30pm on Thursday.
Consequence: no practice during the week. Instead of playing this weekend, we actually met for a third practice on Saturday morning. The problem was, since Thursday, temperature dropped to 20's, and even some snow showed up. The ground was way too hard to play, but we still did our tackle practice. bad idea... It was so cold, for the first time in my life, I used gloves to play rugby. it felt like a disgrace!
Anyhow, after practice, we had some beers, and I had a very long discussion with 2 teammates about rugby, and the club. Questions raised were the style of rugby played in the USA compared to the rest of the world, the future of rugby in the US, the status of the club, and the possibility to bring it from a social club to a competitive level. maybe things will change a little bit. either way, I like being there.
