I read about that guy who killed 33 people with a gun in virginia tech lately and it pissed me off.
I remembered when I was in JEHS and we had some powerpoint project to make about "why is america so great" and the students were all telling how wonderfull the USA were especially because they were free to do everything ,which is an illusion, and some were proud to be free to cary weapons.
I told a girl that in France we weren't allowed to cary weapons and that it was tough to get one without a special permit and she said that it sucked cuz we weren't free.
I saw bowling for columbine , showing how americans just love their guns even though 10 000 people died a year because of them .
And now I read about the virginia tech disaster ...
the family of the victims are saying that if the school had reacted earlier maybe it wouldn't have happened but none of em are saying that if weapons weren't so easy to get maybe it wouldn't have happened either.
So why does the US isn't learning about awful experiences from the past .
I mean if your mom tells you not to play with fireworks cuz you can burn yourself and you do it anyway and you actually burn yourself , well you won't do it again cuz you learn your lesson . But here instead it's like if you've burned yourself but so what you'll do it again but this time you'll blow up your hand just for the fuck of it.
Weapons are made to kill and don't tell me people buy weapons to shoot bottles in a field cuz that's just crap. People buy weapons to kill animals , or to protect themselves "just in case" or to kill someone because they want revenge.
Now if the weapons policy in the US stay the same , then of course it will happen again , and it doesn't matter how much surveillance camera or cops you put in schools , it's just a matter of time until another massacre happens.
I just hope that one day ,loving guns will be less important than loving life..
