New Boss
New guy Mike is just sitting around the office, commenting on annoying unnecessaries and repeating himself a lot. Esstentially telling me how to do my job.
Or probably just pissed that I've booked a butt-load of parties in Manhattan but not as many here. Or maybe he's just bored.
Which is funny because I'm stressed and working my fucking ass off. I just recently found out that he used to manage an Olive Garden, so now I don't really feel like listening to him at all, especially when he suggests that people who "call the restaurant randomly" to book an event shouldn't be my central focus at work.
Also funny.
It suggests that I don't really have much of a following in my job, or that my clients are just idiots that will call anywhere to drop money. As though my job doesn't really carry an immense responsibility of maintaining the restaurant's image and making sure that everything is well received. Or that they didn't call because they'd been to an event before and maybe enjoyed themselves?
Dunno.
Duncaretoomuch.
At least I'm not standing outside the Italian restaurant on the corner telling people that "pastas been done," and trying to convince them that they should come try some Spanish food. and bragging about it.
I'm just trying to keep my mouth shut. It's hard though, especially when I'm working from 9am to 11pm in my busy season and fielding far too many people to keep track of each day. And this guy's going to tell me that I need to work harder?
I've becoming a lot better at flashing my "fuck you" smile.
