Weekend Roundup
Ok, so here's my weekend. Friday I worked a half day which was super nice, I love it when I leave work and it's not busy.....typically that's never the case. I leave work and get home and do a little cookie baking for the party that night. Well Denise and Lloyd get home later that night with a group of people and the drinking begins, I told myself I wouldn't drink much since I was going to volunteer the next morning. I had like 3 drinks, yeah I was pretty gone. At one point I walked by my roommate, Denise, and I somehow knocked over a red bull can and for some reason thought it was hilarious so I was on the ground cracking up and then she followed me....yeah...it was special lol. Around midnight I went to bed so I could get up early.
I woke up on Saturday and showered and stuff. Went to the Obama headquarters here in Saint Paul and ate my breakfast I picked up from Brueggers (it's bad that it's so close to my house). After waiting we eventually paired up, grabbed our maps for canvassing and headed outside for a quick training. My partner was an older woman from Eagan named Sharon. She was super nice, so we drove to our assigned neighborhood and started canvassing. It was a lot of fun. Most houses we just left information and of the houses that we actually got someone most of them were supporting or leaning to Obama, if not they were seriously looking at him. We only had 4 people out of 30 people who answered the door say they were for someone else: 3 Hillary and 1 Kucinich. After 4 hours of door knocking we headed back to headquarters to tally up our results and hand them in. Of all the candidates, Obama is the only one up here in Minnesota, I guess Hillary was supposed to be up here already but is taking her sweet time, which is fine by me because by the time she does set up Iowa we're going to be doing very well in getting the votes we need on February 5th, plus there are a lot of us volunteers up here that are planning on heading to Iowa until the caucuses to help out.
After hanging out at the headquarters for a little bit I left and hung out with Tyler, we went and got pizza at Punch and then went to the mall...oh so much fun. I then dropped him off and went home and did nothing. Then today I woke up and watched some tv and then went over to Justin's place. We went and got breakfast at the highland grille and then to the Highland Water Tower because it was open to the public. It was a lot of fun and definately enjoyed myself. After that we went back to his place and cuddled and watched some tv. Then I made a trip to target to get some dinner and toilet paper. Came home and made Jambalaya and Amanda helped me eat it. Now I'm here and about to go to bed early because Lance is working a ten hour day tomorrow...blah. The good part of doing this is I get to go home early on friday. Anyways I'm going to do some reading and go to bed.
