I have now had all my classes for my final semester of college.  Let's break it down . . .

Recent Fiction
We read novels that have been written "recently" (ie, in the past 40 years).  I've only heard of one of the books (Slaughterhouse Five), but the rest seem like they could be interesting.  The professor is pretty cool and laid back so I'm hoping I can just kinda coast through this without it being too stressful.

Scene Into Song
For our first song or two, we're all doing Sondheim.  I have been paired with a girl named Syndey and we are doing With So Little to Be Sure Of from Anyone Can Whistle.  It's very pretty.  I'm excited to see what other songs I get this semester.

Education and Community Theatre
The title refers more to theater that is used to educate on things like social issues within communities or whatever.  Not specifically theater in schools.  The professor is a hippie lady named Dana who lives in Brooklyn (of course).  She's really fun and I think I'll enjoy this class quite a bit.  Our first day was spent talking about what the class was, coming up with a beginning of class ritual and then playing games.  We have to do a group project where we go into a school or community center and create some sort of performance-based experience for the kids there.  Not us performing something for them, more like us being their teachers and helping them create something they can perform.  Which could be cool.  It'll be an interesting class.

Senior Showcase
The first few weeks we're doing mock auditions.  Darren and Andy will email us a casting breakdown for a show and we have to come in with 2 songs we would sing if we were going to that audition in real life.  Then once we start working on the actual showcase, they're also going to bring in sides that current (or recent) Broadway shows use(d) for their auditions and we'll do cold readings.  So that should be fun.

Forensic Mathematics
I need another math/science credit.  And this is the only class that fits in my schedule.  Even though I just sat through 3 hours of it, I don't think I could really tell you what it's about.  I DO know I have to write a FIFTEEN PAGE paper.  During our break, I was scoffing at that and the girl sitting near me says "Um, it's a 300 level class."  And I was like "Um, I'm a theater major.  I don't DO papers."  But you know . . . as long as I pass.  Even if it's a D.  It's not like I need to keep my GPA up for anything.  Not going to graduate school, not gonna need financial aid since I'm graduating.  As long as I get the credit, I'm golden.
