[ The concept of a mother was alien to Rangiku. She never had a mother and grew up in the slums. After hearing about mothers and fathers and how they're supposed to protect you from hardship she secretly had some disdain for them. Not that she'd admit it, of course, it's not their fault. She'd just suffer silently. ]
