"I'm the best lawyer ever"

I'm all caught up with my tv shows and I so need a Better Caul Saul icon now!

I loved that second episode, "Mijo". The scene in the desert was terrific.

BCS isn't BrBa, and Jimmy McGill is not Walter White (Bob Odenkirk is good but I don't think he can compete with Bryan Cranston, but who can?) but watching him talk himself out of trouble is a lot of fun.

The Tuco/Jimmy scene was brillant. And I loved the aftermaths too,  with Jimmy being so shaken that he can't even enjoy the blond woman's company, and his daily routine at the court...

It's obvious that Walter and Jimmy has a lot in common, as in they don't seem to be built for the game, and mostly rely on "the right combination of words" to get what they want, but Walter was a science genius and obviously had a darker side to him, if only because of that cancer that was inside of him from day one.

Things are lighter here, and yet it's obvious that we're going to see Jimmy change too...from the man who didn't leave but tried to talk Tuco out of killing the twins to the man who would want people to call him Saul and would use the "going to Belize" metaphor to suggest killing people as an option!

So far BCS seems to be a lighter version of BrBa, with counterparts to the BrBa characters, with Jimmy being on the verge of breaking bad, or with the skateboarders being twins, just like Tuco's famous cousins; even Chuck could be seen as an echo to Walt's own family, a sort of mix of Marie (her kleptomania made her look like the weird relative early on) and Hank (the big and successful guy in Walter Jr 's eyes).

Here Tuco is already a violent moron, but not quite as insane as he'll become (this time he threatened No-Doze but didn't kill his henchman for speaking up and trying to help!), and he's taking care of his abuelita which echoes, in a sweetest way, his taking care of tio Salamanca...who shared with the old lady a love for tele novellas!

Also, the Nacho/Jimmy dynamic is promising even though it can never replace Walt/Jesse. Hoeever things seem reversed here. I guess that Nacho will play a part in educating Jimmy, and in a way he's already blackmailing him into breaking the law, echoing how Walt blackmailed Jesse.

As long as they remain echoes and not rip-off/formulaic characters and storylines, I'm fine with that.
