Back again

I'm all caught up with my tv shows I even watched my guilty pleasure, that is Merlin, which is still silly, and quite lazy writing-wise, but it's all about the pretty (btw I'm sure that someone in the writing room came up with the plot after someone else asked how they could have half-naked knights in several scenes...but not Bradley James because he's fed up of being used that way!).

I enjoyed Homeland's premiere but it's beyond my understanding that the show won that many Emmys, especially best drama given the competition (Breaking Bad of course, but Mad Men was also very good last season). It's good but not that good. Same with Damian Lewis' performance IMO (not Claire Danes, though, she is terrific and deserves all the awards she gets). Oh, well.

Copper continues to please me in the way the characters are written.Elizabeth's flaws are very refreshing. Her "that girl has him possessed" before falling into Morehouse's arms was perfect in that regards. I especially like Annie' s storyline and how unhealthy her relationship with Kevin has turned. They are so wrong for each other! He made her do her first kill, and now she's killed again and he got rid of the corpse.

And of course Kevin using the pig way of body disposable had to be a tribute to Deadwood!

There's an obvious parallel between Corcoran and the dead man. They both led the girl to a dark path, are both a sort of twisted father figure, except that Reilly only pretended to be Annie's father while wanting her as wife in his bed; it's the opposite with Kevin who wants her to be daughter-like while she would rather bed him.

Eventually Annie realises she's alone and can only count on herself, so she uses what she learnt in brothels, she tricks men, fools them by using their fantasy against them, playing the part.

How sad that Annie is finally "pleasuring" Kevin, something she offered when they first met. Since then she had never really behaved like a little whore with him...until now. She's giving him what he wants, pretending to be a good little girl, his surrogate daughter, even asking for a bedtime kiss to make him happy. But we know that this is not what she really wants, hence her spying on his sexual intercourse with Eva.
I'm worried about where FRINGE is going to. The second episode disappointed meand not only because they killed Desmond!

The whole plot about Walter's plan makes little sense if you think about it. The dialogues weren't very good, often stating the obvious, or being very "formulaic" (with lots of LOST vibes). Also, the budget cut shows, the CGIs looked quite cheap. The only good part were Olivia and the mother/daughter awkward relationship..

And there's Boardwalk Empire that is so underrated. The "Bone for tuna" title was simply perfect. And it's a treat to have so many good actors delivering so well-written lines, and all those little details that are the trademark of the best writings. And there's Margaret's fabulous dresses and Harrow's awesomeness.

To tell the truth, I'm sad for all the people who don't watch the show and have no idea that there's such an iconic and extraordinary tv character named Richard Harrow. *points to icon above and to pic below*
