Looks like nobody had something to say on the death and The Wire entry, that or very few from my readership (if I still have one) have seen the series (which is a shame) and some of those who have seen The Wire were too busy with RL to spend time on LJ (I know for a fact some are), and others prefer not leave comment on my journal for various ( Read more... )

Glad to hear someone else shares my feeling on this. I can be worked into a frothing lather when I mention this and get outraged responses from the flist. Well, you know what - sorry. I ain't going along with that guilt approach anymore. If I see a flister consistently and happily posting all over the flist and never on my own journal, it's time for us to part ways. I've gotten pretty "ok" with that....as to the less obvious non-comments...yeah, some posts don't elicit much, some elicit too much....but a general response that conveys "i read this i'm here you're there the world is still spinning" can mean a lot.

I, too, have attempted several community style journals in an effort to deal with this straight on, to combat the ennui....but they have all died the slow tragic death of most lj comms. It's amazing how quickly some of lj goes stale.

I really wanted to like The Shield - Sutter as a writer and my beloved Goggins....but yeah, something just wasn't hitting the right notes. We felt the same about Dexter....I would like to return to The Fringe.

Yeah talking about LJ and the LJ users' behaviour seems a bit of a taboo on LJ. Truth hurts. I have often been told that such posts are off-putting...
