And the "danse macabre" continues...

So Now BSG, because I have thought of that one!

The 4 others will come later, probably not until the week end.

There were so many deaths on BSG...even if we leave aside the attack of the colonies that almost destroyed the entire human race in the pilot!

I'm glad you agree!

I'm still fixing all the awful typos I made on both entries. I can't believe it, it's like I didn't even see what I wrote. I shouldn't do that during breaks from my thesis work.

I never thought about Gaeta reacting to Dee's death, but that makes sense. I loved the absence of his pain right at the end, too, and I thought he and Tom went out quite well ( ... )

Or come up with a non-lethal punishment (like being Gaius' BFF for a month).

In that case, Gaeta would have gotten off free because he had done his time several years over. :)

But it wasn't really a punishment for Gaeta until the Cylon arrived on New Caprica. He had such a boy-crush on Dr Baltar!

BTW I loved it when Gaius tried to talk some reason into him (what a reversal!), and when they shared that last cigar together.
Gaius's "Felix, Felix..." in court when Gaeta lied under oath, or his discrete checking on amputed Gaeta later in sick bay, were little moments of grace for the character.

Oh, I think Gaeta loved Gaius Baltar in every sense of the word, possibly with love-of-his-life status, poor guy. (And I say this with great affection for Gaius, who ended up overtaking Laura as my favourite character on BSG. But Felix was bound to end up heartbroken, even if the Cylons had not arrived on New Caprica.) As for what Gaius felt, I think that changed and evolved, and well, here's my meme reply to the question:

By which you can see I loved all the scenes you mention as well.:)

Good choices all. I will say that both Callie's and Tory's deaths were extremely unpleasant for me on a Doylist level, because I felt they were feeding (a part of the) audience's kill-the-bitch misogyny. From this con report, it seems Mary McDonnell and Kate Vernon agree. To quote: The moderator recapped what Tyrol had gone through in Season 4 - being demoted, allowing Boomer to seduce him again, killing Tory with his bare hands (which elicited applause) - then asked Aaron what his favorite 4.5 moment. Aaron answered, "Killing Tory with my bare hands." There was even bigger applause and screams of approval. Aaron went on to explain he told the writers Chief had to find out Tory killed Cally and he had to kill her. In his scenario, Tyrol would take Tory into a hug, pretend it's OK, and "then snap her neck". The writers thought that was great, but the plan was for Tory to get bumped and fall over the railing to her death. (OK, I have to say that does sound rather lame.) Aaron said, "No, no, no, the chief has to kill her." And thought ( ... )

On another note, one additional possibility for "The death that wasn't that much of a surprise but that turned out to happen quickly and in a "clean way" would be Natalie killing the traumatized Six after kissing her to maintain the new Human/Cylon alliance. Speaking of awesome actresses, it's amazing what Tricia Helfer pulled off with the various Sixes - in general, but here in particular.

But the Sixes always provided a quick merciful death! It started in the miniseries with that baby...
