I've just seen the Glee episode that Joss Whedon directed and two things struck me.
Neil Patrick Harris' performance reminded me like A LOT of James Marsters' on BtvS and it isn't a matter of cheekbones. I bet it's Joss' directing. In certain scenes the facial expressions, the acting, were just so Spike that some times I had to pinch myself...
The dancing Artie sequence looked like Joss had seen

Connections, connections my friends, there are everywhere.
I am not too fond of Glee (too sappy, not subtle enough, and the writing sometimes does suck) but that episode was rather good.
Certain shots were really great(Rachel in the looking-glass chatting with Jesse, the duet/duel between Will and Brian, Artie on the floor after he felt down, Rachel singing with her mother looked very OMWF-like!).
