ooooopsss again..I haven't updated this journal for a while...sorry....I hope you're alright. Let me know how everything goes and what you're doing pleeeeease :)
I had my first week of classes...So stressful..lol...It's like doing a presentation but everyday!!! I felt better in the last hours and I'll be fine soon... I was so nervous the first hours, I could feel my voice shaking and couldn't control it..lol..really horrible this feeling...I hope the students didn't notice too much. They are first and second years. The 1rst years are quite shy to speak in French, I guess it's normal it's the beginning. The second years are quite fluent but their grammar is horrible!!! lol...But I'm here to help and make them improve :) I think I'm going to enjoy teaching and it's really interesting to be in university classes and they seem motivated which is great :)
This week was more about presenting myself, what we are going to do, showing them where I live....and playing some games as well to get to know each other :)
I have the project of a play workshop, it's only a project but some students seem interested. We're going to have a meeting next week and try to organise everything.. And also I'm so excited about it...lol...I went to the radio on campus to ask them if we can do a short program (30 mn) in French with the students and they agree!!! yeahhhhh. I will have a training as soon as the coordinator comes back because he is ill and then we can start!! how exciting is that!! lol
Tomorrow I'm meeting a woman who wants French lessons for herself because her daughter who is 5 is in an immersion school and she wants to be able to help her with her homework because she doesn't know French, how to pronounce it..etc.. It's going to be interesting and everything to have extra money is good even if I won' t be paid a lot.. To all these news my mother said..."And when are you going to sleep?" it makes me laugh..lol...It really motivates me to have projects like that :D
On Friday night I went to watch a movie, have you heard about it? it's "an inconvenient truth" by and with Al Gore, about the Global Warming. It's quite frightening but also makes you realize what's going on, the temperatures only increasing, the ice melting even in the Arctic...It's a bit too much personal or very oriented like "you should have voted for me!!!"...but it's overall a good movie I think.
I went there with the monitor who is working in the French department. She is a Canadian student but she speaks French and is teaching conversation classes and small groups like me. She is very nice and friendly and I love her accent from Quebec :)
Haaaaaaaaa it smells so goood!!! one of my flatmates' parents have arrived a few days ago to visit her and are staying until Tuesday and her mother cooked a turkey, that one of our neighbours won last week (I have no idea why he gave this to my flatmates...) and it's in the oven since this morning...hummm it smells goood!!! They haven't really invited me yet but I hope I can try it....lol....
I need to go..check if everything is ready for tomorrow :)
TAKE CARE...MISS YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU ...
