I woke up to such a beautiful day this morning! When the alarm went off at 7:15 because I had an early morning meeting with a professor, I was of course not very thrilled. But when I walked outside, got on the bus, looked out the window, and saw how beautiful Tübingen is right now, I just had to smile.
There's a little bit of snow left on the ground from when it snowed a long time ago... not too much, but just enough to be absoultely. And the best part is, even though it's old snow, it's so white and unpolluted because Tübingen is such a clean town. And when I look at the trees, or anything for that matter, it's just amazing because there's this sheet of white ice that's covering them -- not the heavy, destructive ice, but a light and beautiful ice that truly has transformed Tübingen into a Winter Wonderland. It's like a bucket of white paint was splashed over the city, and it's breathtaking, almost everywhere you look. And the sky is clear, bright blue, with almost no clouds in the sky (a rarity in Germany during the winter), and even though the sun is shining bright, it's still freezing enough to not melt anything.
So here we are, stuck in this cold but cheery perpetual fairy tale town. Dare I say this is the most beautiful I have ever seen Tübingen be?
