It was just a few hours later when the sound of his alarm clock woke Luke up. He reached over to the bedside table to shut off the annoying buzzing but stopped when his body reminded him of what he had done last night. He grinned to himself. That was the good kind of soreness. He loved it. He reached a little further and shut off the alarm.
He turned around and was startled to find an empty bed. Reid wasn’t there. He sat up straight. Had he left? Without saying anything? Luke immediately assumed the worst; it was who he was when it came to himself. But his negative spiral of thoughts was interrupted when he heard the shower running.
He’s in the shower. Luke felt so happy he giggled. He was nervous and giddy all over again about facing Reid after what they had experienced together.
He hopped off the bed, still naked and made his way to the bathroom.
Reid was hidden from his sight behind the shower wall, so Luke took the opportunity to brush his teeth. He put the toothbrush back on the stand and peeked around the shower wall to watch Reid. Reid was standing with his back towards Luke, hands against the wall and his head hanging down. Luke let his eyes travel over Reid’s naked form and his body responded right away. He opened the door and the sound shook Reid out of whatever he was thinking about and he turned to face Luke. He watched Luke get in the shower, his eyes growing dark and hungry. Luke stepped under the spray and looped his arms around Reid’s neck.
“Good morning.”
Reid said nothing but wrapped his arms around Luke, pulled him close and kissed him, slow and deep. He felt the need to be as close to Luke as possible and roamed his hands over Luke’s back, revelling in the soft skin that covered the muscles he could so clearly feel. They continued to kiss while lazily exploring each other’s bodies. Luke’s hands were in Reid’s hair, threading through those beautiful wet curls. Then he cupped Reid’s face while they kissed.
“You’re so beautiful,” he murmured against Reid’s lips. He felt Reid smile against his mouth and then move his mouth across Luke’s cheek to his ear. He licked around the shell and whispered, “You’re not so bad yourself, Mr. Snyder.”
As if on cue, their breath quickened, their kisses becoming deeper and more frantic. The want and sheer need for each other became the most important thing in the world as they touched and kissed and licked each other and eventually their hands found their way to the other man’s cock. They started to jerk each other off, slowly at first but as the tension built their movements sped up and became more desperate. Their heads were on the other’s shoulder as they watched the show they were giving each other, until they finally climaxed, Reid first, then Luke, both panting heavily.
“Wow.” Luke grinned. “That’s one hell of a good morning.”
Reid kissed him again. “Yeah, that was hot.” He let Luke pull him into his arms and he rested his head against Luke’s. It felt familiar and comfortable. Their bodies just fit. There was no question what went where and how, it just happened naturally, as if they’d been together for years.
They finished their shower and Luke stepped out first. He wrapped a towel around his waist and went into the room to get his underwear. He stopped to look around the room and sighed happily. The bed was a mess and his sleeping pants and Reid’s scrubs were lying on the floor where they had thrown them last night. The room looked like it had been used for sex. Luke grinned. Because that’s exactly what happened.
A knock on the door shook him out of his thoughts and he glanced at the bathroom door where Reid still was. He was going to get rid of whoever was on the other side of the door.
He swung the door open, forgetting that he was still only dressed in a towel.
He was met by Mike’s laugh.
“It’s a good thing it’s me and not the maid.” He slapped Luke on the shoulder and brushed past him into the room. He whistled.
“Nice, man. This room is definitely an upgrade from what I’m used to.” Mike plopped down on the bed, oblivious to the mess and the bewildered expression on Luke’s face and continued to talk.
“How have you been, dude? I haven’t talked to you in forever.”
Luke tugged at Mike’s arm, trying to get him off the bed, while nervously looking at the bathroom door.
“Come on, Mike. We talked just the other day. Get out, I have to get dressed.”
Mike just made himself comfortable on the bed and wasn’t planning on going anywhere. He closed his eyes and sighed.
“There’s nothing I haven’t seen before, so go right ahead. I’ll wait for you here and we’ll get breakfast.”
Luke fidgeted with the towel around his waist. “No Mike, come on. Go, I’ll catch up with you in a minute.”
Mike opened his eyes and looked at Luke. “What is wrong with you, man? Stop being weird!”
“Weird?” Luke shrieked. “I’m not..”
He was cut short by Reid, who came stumbling out of the bathroom in just his boxers. “Luke, do you have..” He stopped mid-sentence, looking from Mike to Luke.
The three men did nothing but stare at each other for several moments; Mike with comically widened eyes, Luke a living example of nervousness and Reid somewhat amused.
It was Mike who spoke first. “Uhm, hi.” He got up from the bed slowly. He glanced at Luke before extending his hand towards Reid. “I’m Mike Wilson.”
Reid took a hesitant step towards him, grabbed his hand and shook it once, firmly. “Dr. Reid Oliver.”
“Dr. Oliver?” One could almost see the wheels turning in Mike’s head. “Aren’t you… Kevin’s doctor?”
Luke had finally found his voice and answered before Reid could. “Yes. Yes, he is Kevin’s doctor. He’s just…” He nervously swallowed and looked at Reid.
Reid crossed his arms over his chest and stared back at Luke, anxiously waiting for what Luke was going to say. It had to be Luke who explained Reid’s boxer clad presence in his bedroom.
“So what’s he doing here?” Mike eyes darted from Luke to Reid and back. It seemed he only then noticed their lack of clothing and his eyebrows shot up in realisation.
“Oh! Is this…did he… you two…” Not able to complete the sentence, Mike turned to Luke. “Luke?”
Luke ran both of his hands through his hair, causing it to stick up in all directions. Luke was torn between telling Mike the truth and making up an excuse for Reid being there. Problem was, he couldn’t think of a logical and believable explanation. When he looked at Reid, who stood there in his half-naked glory, watching him intently with his blue eyes full of emotion, he thought about what they had shared last night and again this morning. Luke realised he didn’t want to make up an excuse. Mike was going to be the first to know.
He took a deep breath and took a step closer to Reid as if to gain strength from him. Strength he desperately needed to go through this.
“Listen Mike, we’ve been friends for how long now? 5 years?” Mike nodded.
“And we’re good friends right, really good friends. Best friends even.” Mike nodded again. “And I think we know each other pretty well.” Another nod from Mike.
“But- but there’s something about me that I haven’t told you. Something that I haven’t told anyone, not even my mom and dad. Something nobody knows about me. Well nobody besides Reid, because it only took him about 5 minutes to figure it out.” Reid smirked.
“You know how you’ve been trying to set me up with Shelley’s friend and I wasn’t interested?” Mike narrowed his eyes and tilted his head. “Yes?”
“It wasn’t because she wasn’t attractive or nice, but I will never be interested in her.” Luke voice, that had been calm and sure, began to shake. “Or in any girl. Do you understand what I’m saying?” Luke was struggling to get through his admission, to make Mike understand it, but it was hard. He felt tears coming, but fought them back when he felt Reid’s warm hand on his back, reassuring and encouraging.
Mike wasn’t stupid and knew where Luke was going with this. He understood that his friend was trying to share a secret that he kept hidden for so long. He watched Luke look up at Reid, smiling a little with teary eyes, before he turned his attention back to Mike.
“What are you saying, Luke?” Mike asked, his brow furrowed.
Luke took another shaky breath and then he came out of the closet. Just like that. “I’m gay, Mike. I like guys, not girls.” Then he looked at Reid with shiny eyes. “There, I said it.”
Reid had never felt more proud of anything or anyone. He put his arm around Luke’s shoulder and kissed his hair. “I’m so, so proud of you.” He whispered in his ear. He squeezed Luke’s shoulder before turning towards the bathroom again. “I’m going to get dressed. You two talk.” He said over his shoulder.
Mike had watched the sweet exchange between his team mate and friend and the doctor. It was obvious there was something going on between them.
He noticed an expression on Luke’s face that he had never seen there before. He’d seen Luke happy before, on the field, after winning a match or scoring an important goal. But this was something different. Luke’s face didn’t just radiate happiness but it expressed peace as well and his eyes were soft as he watched Reid walk away.
He then focused back on Mike, who hadn’t said anything yet.
“Mike? Say something, please.” Luke looked at Mike pleadingly, fear evident in his voice.
Mike looked down and shook his head. “Wow, I never would have thought.” Then he looked up and smiled a little. “But now that you’ve told me, it makes perfect sense. It explains a lot.”
Luke felt relief rush through his body, but he wanted to make sure he understood correctly. “You’re-, you’re not mad?” He asked.
“No man, it’s okay. It’s who you are.” Mike took a step towards Luke and smacked him on the shoulder. Hard.
“Ow!” Luke cried out. “What was that for?”
“For not telling me sooner, you dick. And don’t go all sissy on me all of a sudden, it wasn’t that hard.” Mike laughed. “Listen, I’m going downstairs for breakfast. But we are not done talking about this. You’re gonna have to tell me everything.” Then he looked at the bathroom door and made a face. “Well, no, scratch that. Not everything.” He shuddered.
Luke grinned, but stopped Mike from walking away. “Thank you, Mike. You don’t know what this means to me.”
“Anytime, man. We’re friends, right?” Mike shrugged it off.
“Listen, could you do me one more favour? Don’t tell anyone about this, okay? I’m not ready to- to, you know, come out to the world yet.”
“Okay, if that’s what you want.” Mike nodded slowly. “I’ll see you downstairs.” And with that he walked out of the room, leaving Luke standing in the middle of the room, still only wearing his towel.
Luke’s head was spinning. What had just happened? Did he really just come out to Mike?
Then he felt two strong arms come around him and he leaned back into the firm body behind him.
“Do you regret it?” Reid asked, while nuzzling Luke’s neck. Luke’s hand came up and he rested it on the back of Reid’s head.
“I can’t believe I did it.” Luke closed his eyes. “And I’m strangely okay with it. I trust Mike, he would never do anything to intentionally hurt me. Although he does have a big mouth.” Luke suddenly remembered.
“I meant what I said; I’m really proud of you.” Reid kissed Luke’s shoulder.
“Well, there was little sense in denying anything. I mean, we were both here, half naked, with clothes all over the room, the bed’s a mess and the room smells like sex.” Luke laughed. He turned in Reid’s arms, feeling more relaxed and happy then he had in a long time.
“Too bad you’re already dressed.” He whispered against Reid’s mouth before capturing his lips in a slow but hungry kiss. Feeling Luke’s warm and inviting mouth on his, Reid felt hot desire for Luke surge through his body again. He could not get enough of him, of his body, his mouth, his hair, his everything. His hands slid from Luke’s shoulders to his waist, easily working loose the towel until it fell at their feet. He pulled Luke’s naked body against his own clothed one by grabbing his ass and kneading his soft cheeks, eliciting a moan from Luke. There was something very erotic about feeling Reid’s jeans and shirt against his skin.
“Hold that thought, I really have to go.” Reid reluctantly let go of Luke’s lips, but kept his hold on Luke’s body. He groaned when he felt Luke’s erection growing against his thigh.
“Jesus Luke,” he groaned. “You’re killing me.”
Luke grinned; thrilled he could make Reid feel that way, and looped his arms around Reid’s neck and gave him a soft kiss. “I have to go too, so I’m going to get dressed.”
Reid smacked Luke’s ass lightly. “Go, before I throw you down and have my way with you.”
Luke giggled and went into the bathroom to put on his training gear. When he emerged out of the bathroom, all ready to go, Reid looked up and blew out a breath. Didn’t matter what he wore, he looked amazing in everything. But in his sports gear? Yeah, totally hot.
“Listen, I wanted to ask you earlier when I came out of the bathroom- do you have some socks I can borrow? It seems I forgot to bring clean ones and I really don’t want to wear the same socks two days in a row.” Reid cringed at the thought.
Luke laughed and pulled a clean pair out of his bag. “Here, keep them. I have a lot more of those.”
Reid examined the socks. They were thick, black socks, obviously used for sports and they were nothing like Reid had ever owned. He put them on and wiggled his toes. “These are great. Thanks.”
Luke laughed again. “You’re so weird.” He kissed Reid on the lips. “I like it.” Another kiss. ”I’m going now. Can I.. will you.. ehmm.” He stammered, but Reid understood what he wanted to say.
“You want me to come over tonight?” He asked softly.
Luke blushed a little. “Yeah. It will be the last night that we can spend together in a while.” He looked at Reid through his eyelashes.
“Good, ‘cause I want that too.” Reid simply said.
They shared one last kiss goodbye, then left the room and went their separate ways, both wishing the day was over already.
