Prayer to Isidore, patron saint of the Internet

Jan 19, 2009 14:01

 I S I D O R E !  I S I D O R E ! I S I D O R E !
I pray to He who shines through you,

the Sun who powers your innovative drive,

the Moon who guides the dark recesses...

bring Light to this unintelligible database,

establish encyclopedic order to the chaos of Internet.

I S I D O R E ! I S I D O R E ! I S I D O R E !

your watchful eye catches the vastness of Cyberia

and your pen works through our typing fingers

which surf through orchards of long forgotten scripture.

as your quest through lore was beyond Dark,

we, too, bumble through corridors of paradox and parity!

I S I D O R E ! I S I D O R E ! I S I D O R E !

supplicating to the One who works through you,

return search results by the googleplex and

sift through them like the sands of Dream to find Discovery.

through your scrutiny, we cypher those symbols of chaos

as they usher in a catalog of imagination.

I S I D O R E ! I S I D O R E ! I S I D O R E !

I am terrified by the bandwidth of synchronicity,

am stunned to silence and pushed into deepest movement,

gliding questions that delight into wondrous possibility.

guide us through the surf, I pray to you today,

keep at bay the sloth with the skull of a vulture.

I S I D O R E ! I S I D O R E ! I S I D O R E !

I honor the click and the type and the typo,

I love the lust of psychic optics screening before me.

Grant me trust in the process of networking

the grand web will ever shine light upon its flaws,

yet these silicon tomes are alive and foster Change.

I S I D O R E ! I S I D O R E ! I S I D O R E !

the Lord commands a Saint from Seville,

scribe to the culling of tomes Medieval,

author of imperfect knowledge stored in a single source.

hear my prayer as I browse !  guide me honorably !

may the Will be served in all that I do.
