Okay, so:

1) which show would you reboot

9) show you loved and then you hated

41) replacement for an actor.

1. Hmm that’s a tough question because there are a lot of shows (like Buffy!) where I love the concept of the show, so in many ways a modern reboot would be fascinating, but at the same time there’s a reason that the idea is so widely unpopular. You’re generally a fan because of that particular cast and writing team, so it’s hard to say that you want a completely new version of a show that is already a favourite of yours, it’s almost like saying that you think the existing version could be improved upon ( ... )

5. Definitely Nikita! That’s a show that hardly gets any love from fandom, and it makes me sad because it really is SOOO great and feels like it should be as much loved and discussed as other shows with kickass female leads like Alias or Dark Angel, but it seems like hardly anyone has discovered Nikita or wants to talk about it, it never really became the cult hit that the original movie and tv show were even ( ... )

I have to be honest, I only heard about Nikita because it was Supernatural's lead-in for a while. I think a lot of people never bothered checking it out because it was on the CW.

LOM was great!
There’s so much content out there to watch that I’m only going to check something out if the concept interests me.
That's so true. I wanted to try out Conviction because it had Hayley Atwell and some other actors I like, but even that wasn't enough when the concept didn't sound interesting and it was received rather poorly.

It's good to see I'm not the only one who still wants to buy shows on DVD/blu ray! Personally, I'm satisfied with a handful of deleted scenes and a gag reel, but even that is getting rarer. I love NBC for putting up The Good Place's gag reel up on youtube.

With Sharp Objects and Big Little Lies for example those were shows that I would have loved to own on Blu-Ray with detailed featurettes and commentaries going behind the scenes, but it seemed like the only extras on offer were the same very brief 1-2 minute featurettes on iTunes which feel more like trailers/promo to me, they hardly went very in-depth disappointingly. So I just brought them on iTunes to own the episodes basically, but there didn’t seem to be much point in getting the Blu-Rays as well ( ... )

3. Yep. It used to be something I struggled with more, especially if I was really attached to the characters, but I’ve become a lot more demanding these days when it comes to tv entertaining me. You kind of have to be when there’s just so much content out there to watch, I really don’t have the patience any more to continue sitting through a show that I’ve lost interest in, not when my to-watch list is growing all the time ( ... )

Oh, this is a fun meme! Imma have to steal it, I think, even though I'm not much of a TV show watcher.

6. have you ever been inspired to start a new show based on gifs or memes it has produced?
8. what’s one show you thought you’d hate but turned out to really enjoy?
21. how do you feel about bottle episodes?
26. do you tend to quote TV shows a lot? have you ever started using a word/phrase because of a TV show?*

*brought to you by the fact that it was only a couple of weeks ago that I realized where your username comes from, LOL, and why it was sounding resonant all of a sudden XP

6. Actually probably yes, although right now I can’t think right now of any show in particular. But I think there must have definitely been a few, just because gif sets on tumblr have often encouraged me to look more into a show and see if it’s something that I want to check out. Same with videos on YouTube. Just in general getting an idea of what the characters are like and if they would appeal to me is what can draw me into a show and want to find out more, The Americans is one show that I started watching after people were discussing the scene of them being fake captured by their own people, and posting video clips and gifs from it ( ... )

Oops I missed #21!

21. I’ve really enjoyed most bottle episodes, there’s something special about just keeping the focus on your core characters and watching them interact only with one another. I loved Fly from Breaking Bad for that reason, and bottle episodes were always something to look forward to on Friends and Community as well

It seems like they have a rep for being throwaway episodes to save money, but generally I find it’s more the case that the writers are really trying their best to get creative with them and make them something special

I usually only start watching a show because it sounds intriguing, so it’s rarely a case where I was expecting to hate it, I wouldn’t really bother with a show in the first place

Yeah, that was a slightly odd question, although I do know shows that either were follow-ons to shows people loved that disappointed them -- I know I lot of people who hated Legend of Korra for not being more like Avatar: the Last Airbender, e.g. Or shows that are adaptations of beloved books or continuations of beloved franchises, I guess. (My answer to this question would probably be Game of Thrones, which I do not HATE, but I did stop watching after season 1 and have no interest in returning to it based on the direction the show took.)

It can be a little awkward though if you do tell people what it directly translates as, I really don’t even think of its origins much any more *g*Haha, yeah, I could see that XP ( ... )
