Sad news
I’ve been wallowing in 90’s nostalgia recently after Amazon Prime added Heartbreak High to its back catalogue, it seemed like every British school kid was obsessed with it back in the day, at least we were in my school anyway! It was based around a school in a tough inner city, and it gave us such a different view of Australia compared to Home And Away (which I was also obsessed with) and Neighbours
And then today we get the news that Luke Perry, famous 90’s icon, has tragically passed :( I never saw the complete series of Beverley Hills 90210, I think it mostly aired on Sky? But I definitely remember watching the early seasons after Channel 5 started airing them, and naturally I developed a huge crush on Dylan McKay. I wouldn’t say that I was a huge 90210 fan, perhaps I came into it a bit late with the C5 airings, but Dylan McKay was such an iconic character and essential part of the 90’s. He was also fantastic later on when playing a very different character in the prison drama Oz, and of course I remember him starring as Pike in the original Buffy movie! I would love to rewatch some of those early 90210 episodes now that Amazon Prime seem to be adding more nostalgic shows from the 90’s, they’ve also uploaded Baywatch in HD, so fingers crossed that 90210 might be next
I just can hardly believe that the actor has now gone...I heard about his stroke of course, but for some reason I never for one moment thought it was going to kill him. This is such a sad day :(
